A BATHING APE® Bape Sta "Kanye West"

In 2006, just as he was on the precipice of superstardom, but before his iconic face-off with 50 Cent, Kanye West unveiled a ‘College Dropout’-inspired collab with A Bathing Ape. Here, West, no stranger to BAPE apparel and accessories, outfits the Bape Sta model in a motif that mirrors the color scheme of his classic first album. The Kanye West x A Bathing Ape Bape Sta features premium tumbled leather on the mudguard and heel in a chocolate brown, while smooth leather in cream color the toe box, mid-panel, BAPE logo branding on the side, and upper heel. A burnt red accents the lace placket, as well as the outsole and inner lining. But the most recognizable aspect of the shoe is the placement of the ‘College Dropout’ Bear mascot on the lateral side of the shoe. Of course, this sneaker released in a limited run.
